Feeling Guilty?

Have you ever felt guilty or like you weren’t measuring up after reading something in your Bible? That happened to me this morning. I read a passage and felt super convicted that I had not been living in accordance to that particular scripture. It was a bad feeling. But thankfully, God is good, and He only allows us to feel that way if He is calling us to repentance (feel sorry, say sorry and change our way to be in alignment with Him). Repentance leads to forgiveness: our guilt or shortcoming is completely forgiven and replaced with peace and hopefulness. It’s truly wonderful and the opposite of the condemnation the devil tries to put on us which leads to hopelessness, shame and unrest.

The other beautiful thing about this is that God says when we have a repentant heart (a “contrite heart”), we are favored! The fact that we are submitting to His Spirit to be able to even reveal those areas He’s calling us to change is evidence of Him working in our heart. And He says that we are FAVORED.

“These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:2b‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Accept the conviction of the Spirit, repent and accept His love and forgiveness and peace this morning. Bask in the love of our awesome Savior. He is a good, good God.
